What are the minimum system requirements to play games on Playcooler.com?

Operating Systems:
- Windows 2000/XP/Vista
- Mac OS X Version 10.4+
 

Flash Player:
- Flash 8.0+ is required to watch videos and animation on Playcooler. Get the latest version of Flash Player - it's a free download from Adobe.
 

Browsers:
- Internet Explorer 6.0+
- Firefox 2+
- Safari 3+

*Note: On all browsers, you must have JavaScript enabled and cookies turned on.

Internet Connection:
- Playcooler is best experienced with DSL, Cable Modem or LAN.

We recommend downloading the latest version of your preferred browser.

Troubleshooting

I can't play games on the site, what do I do?

• Please make sure Java/JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your Internet browser's preferences.
• Ad-blocking software, home firewalls, or other security software (Norton, Zone Alarm, etc.) may affect the site's performance. Temporarily disable any ad-blockers or firewalls you have running.
• Check the security zone setting of your Internet browser's preferences. If the security is set too high, you will be blocked from accessing more sites.
• Close other applications. Having other programs running can slow down or impair your browser's performance, especially if you're playing a high-requirement game.
• This issue could be caused by your browser trying to access an old and/or broken version of the page. Please clear your browser's cache, refresh the webpage and try it again. See How do I clear my browser cache?
• You may also have damage to your Shockwave or Flash Player plug-ins. For instructions on how to re-install your Flash Player plug-in, See How do I Reinstall my Flash Player plug-in? How do I clear my browser cache?

Internet Explorer

1. Top Menu Go to Tools > Internet Options
2. You will see the General Tab > Then Look Down to Browsing History click the "Delete" button.

Netscape - Windows

1. Go to Edit > Preferences
2. Under Advanced, find "Cache"
3. Click both "Clear" buttons

Firefox - Windows

1. Click Tools > Clear Private Data
2. Check Cache and Offline Website Data
3. Click "Clear Private Data Now"

Firefox - Mac OS

1. In the menu bar, click Tools > Clear Private Data
2. Check Cache and Offline Website Data
3. Click "Clear Private Data Now"

Safari

1. In the menu bar, click Safari > Empty Cache
2. Click "Empty" when prompted to remove the cache

How do I Reinstall my Flash Player plug-in?

1. Download the uninstaller here:
   http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
2. Save the uninstaller to your desktop,
3. Quit/exit any applications you have open.
4. Launch the uninstaller from your desktop
5. Follow the instructions in the dialog boxes that appear.
6. After uninstalling both Players, restart your computer.
7. Reinstall both the Shockwave and Flash Players here:
   http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

How do I Reinstall my Shockwave Player plug-in?

Windows:

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Go to Add/Remove programs
3. Choose Adobe or Macromedia Shockwave Player.
4. Click "Remove"
5. Then, if you use Internet Explorer, delete this folder:
   C:\Windows \system32\Macromed
   .... or
   C:\WINNT\system32\Macromed

OR

Delete these two folders:

C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Common *AND*
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Director

If you use Netscape, look here:

C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\plugins
to remove this file: "np32dsw.dll".

Mac OS:

• To uninstall the Shockwave player on a Macintosh OS, run the installer available at:
  Mac OS X, version 10.3 and above: uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg (243 KB) (updated 11/05/08) This installer also contains an uninstaller.
• Mac OS X, version 10.2 and below: uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg (1.3 MB) (updated 05/27/08)
• Mac OS 8.x, 9.x: uninstall_flash_player.hqx (33 KB)

Save the uninstaller to your desktop, then quit/exit any applications you have open. Launch the uninstaller for your Mac OS from your desktop and follow the instructions in the dialog boxes that appear.

Help Playing Games

Unfortunately, Playcooler doesn't offer game play support. If you're having difficulty with a particular game, you might check out game forums dedicated to the game you're playing. These sites often have helpful hints and general game play information.

Registration & Login

To become a member on Playcooler, click the "Register" button on the right  of the website. If you are already a member and would like to login to the site, click the "Login" link to the right of the site.

Profiles

Playcooler members can create their own Profiles on the site. To create a Profile, simply register for Playcooler, then click the "Profile" link in the top right corner of the site to view and edit your Profile. You can add and edit information on your Profile page at any time.

My Favorites

If you would like to save your favourite games on the site, simply login and click the "Favorite Game" link bellow any game. Your favourite games will appear on your Profile. If you would like to remove games from your Favorites list, click the "My Favorite Games" link to the right of the site. Then click the "delete" button to delete the game from your Favorites list.

Game Ratings & Reviews

To rate a game, click the drop down that appear below each game on the site rate the game 1 to 5 then click the "rate" Button. To Comment on a game, enter your review, and click the "POST COMMENT" button. You must be a member and logged in to Rate or Comment on a game.

Search for Games

To search for games on the site, click in the Search field to the right of the game site and enter your search term.

Creating a Profile

To create a Profile, simply register for Playcooler, then click the "Customize Profile" link and edit your Profile. You can add and edit information on your Profile page at any time.

Uploading a Profile Photo

To upload a photo/avatar to your profile, click the "Customize Profile" link on your Profile page. Click the "Browse" button to find the photo you would like to use on your desktop, then click the "Upload" button.You can change your photo/avatar at any time.

If you're having trouble uploading a photo, try one of the following:

• We allow users to upload photos that are 1MB or less. If your photo is larger than 1MB, try using photo editing software to crop the picture or lower the resolution, making it a smaller file size.
• We only accept (80x80 pixels .gif,.jpg,.png) Be sure you are uploading one of these file types.
• Make sure that you've selected the correct location of the photo on your computer to upload from.
• Try using a different browser. Sometimes photo uploads work better on different browsers.

My Favorites

If you would like to save your favourite games on the site, simply login and click the "Favourite" link at the bottom left of any game. Your favourite games will appear on your Profile. If you could like to remove games from your Favourites list, click the "My Favorite Games" link. From here, you can click the "delete" button to delete the game from your Favourites list.

Profile Comments

To leave a comment click "Memberlist", Find  members name click on the "name" in there profile click "Send Private Message"  Or Find  members name click on the "PM Me" Link to the far Right of there name.

Forgot My Password

If you forget your password, follow the steps below to receive a password reminder:

1. Go to "Login"
2. Click the "Forgot Password" link
3. Enter the email addressed you used to register for Playcooler
4. Click the "Resend" button
5. Check your email account for an email from Playcooler with your password reminder. It should arrive within a few minutes

Change My Password

To change your password at any time, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Edit Account Details.
2. Enter your old password
3. Enter your new password
4. Enter your your email or a new one
5. Click the "Change" button

Change My Email Address

To change your email address at any time, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Edit Account Details
2. Enter your old password.
3. Enter your new password or old password if you just want to change your email.
4. Enter your new email address
5. Click the "Change" button.

Profile Privacy

When you create a Profile on Playcooler, other members can view the information you include on your Profile. So be careful what you include in your Profile.

Game Warning

While the most of the games on this site are appropriate for people of all ages, every once in a while a game may be a little edgy so as a parent supervising a child it is up to you to use your parental guidance before playing.

Other Tips for Parents

Consider your child's unique personality and level of maturity. Every child is different, and parents should use their judgment in deciding which games are appropriate for their children.

Watch what games or film clip's your children are playing and talk to them about the games or film clip's. You'll learn a lot and have a better sense of what is appropriate for your child.

Play the games look at the film clips yourself! You'll have fun and be able to provide better guidance for your child.

Using Our Games or Film Clip's on Your Website or Blog

Playcooler has many titles that you can place on your personal website, or blog

But not all of the games or films that are available are embeddable.

All of the other games or films that are not embeddable on our site are available for linking.  Just link to the game's or film "Content" page URL, for example: http://www.playcooler.com/play-868-Super-Flash-Mario-Bros.html
